Library based Open Source Software communities often discuss their desires to be more inclusive and to bring diverse voices to the table, but what is actually stopping us from doing so? In this talk, Evviva will outline barriers to adoption and community building, identify some of the systemic structures that are holding us back and explore pathways forward that could, through collective action, save us from being forced to live within walled gardens of national boundaries and proprietary systems.
